Ever since I had the inkling to pour out my thoughts, I have been writing stories, poems and essays. I have been painting and drawing as an outlet of my emotions. Though I am not an expert, I believe that I have made those pieces with the same ardor and passion as an award-winning writer, poet or artist. With this statement, I fear that you are expecting a multitude of literary, poetic and artistic pieces collected with the passing of time. Alas! I regret to tell you that I have no portfolio of that sort. And believe me when I say that I am as sad as you are frustrated.
Nevertheless, I have with me a number of pieces that survived the passing of time and its atrocities. Though they may be of no value to you, to me they are such prized possessions. And I’m telling you all these because I want you to get to know me more. In a way, by sharing to you the ramblings and thoughts within my head, I am sharing a bit of myself.
Twenty-four years of existence has already taught me a lot and it has given me a sense of my identity. Though a bit crude and unripe, this sense of who I am gives me a sheer feeling of fulfillment. In a short matter of time, I will reach a quarter of my life and I am proud to say that I have learned a lot and have earned love, friendship and happiness. I may not have everything that men desire yet I already have what a hungry soul longs for… sheer, unadulterated happiness.
If I am to describe who I am, I may just answer that I am a walking oxymoron—a tumult of endless contradiction. It may seem to be a negative introduction to my persona but I do believe that even at this moment, your thoughts are being tickled by the idea. Aren’t you drawn into a sense of innocent curiosity? As I may say in the words of the great Albert Einstein, “The most beautiful experience you can have is a sense of the mysterious.” And who wouldn’t like a girl with certain mystery?
